I got a delivery of 200 cardboard slide mounts today. They're a slightly different proportion to a standard 35mm mount, the opening is squarer, which I really like, but they still measure just 2"x2". So of course I've spent the afternoon playing with them! Here's a finished piece that has a transparency backed by text in it. When it's backlit the text becomes fully visible giving it a little element of surprise and the reverse of the mount is decorated too. I'll be listing it later tonight on eBay
I'd love to know what you think, leave me a comment if you'd like to!

  1. I love it! I think the coloured stamping on the mount itself is lovely. I rather like the way you do those edges, BTW. And the central, element is beautiful - wish we could see the text, but I like the fact that it is to be a surprise. I agree, the squarer aperture is much better.

Look forward to seeing many more of these!

  2. Oh yes, I like this too. I love the mount itself, with the printing and the contrast with the face is great. It makes me want to play with cardboard mounts too!

  5. You are so creative! This is a beautiful piece - great use of transparencies. This is the type of art I'd probably carry around with me all the time, just so I can hold it up to the light when I'm out and enjoy it whenever I want :)
