The Last Rose of Summer
One of my favourite things to work with is transparencies. I really enjoy layering them with text and pattern so that they, hopefully, tell a story more complex than would be the case with a flat image. They often also end up with a ghostly ethereal quality which I like. Here's a piece I made a few months ago which makes use of a silk tissue transparency. I can't wait for summer actually, not a winter person!
