Going Postal

I am planning to offer more unique art supplies on my website for all the collage lovers out there, so if that's you take a look here.

This is a sheet of faux postage stamps which are made from details of collages I have created over the last few years. It was extremely time consuming to make but I'm very pleased with the result. Just the thing to brighten up a piece of artwork or an envelope?

Without You

I have a small collection of old alphabet stencils which I particularly love because they're metal and therefore I can 'age' them even more as well as embossing them, as I've done here.

This is a very textural piece which becomes apparent when you see it in person. As well as the stencil it includes corrugated card, handmade paper and shiny oil pastels.

Mail Art for Lolly

This is a piece of mail art I did for a swap with Lolly. We decided to use faux postage as part of the decoration process and this is what I came up with. The stamps are made from two pieces of my artwork which I tweaked digitally and resized. I thought they would fit well with the Oriental theme.

Post It

I've always been interested in mail art although I've never really created any myself. However the other day I happened upon Gillian Allen's great little PS tutorial on faux postage and decided to have a go. This is one of those things which is very addictive and I can't stop making postage stamps now. Must try and find a mail art swap...
