Sam's Blankie

Something I used to do a lot was quiltmaking. Well I hadn't done any for about two years and sorting through my fabric stash yesterday I found a bunch of blocks leftover from another project. Now my boy Sam loves nothing better (except maybe walkies) than being cuddled up under a quilt, so I decided to make him one of his very own and this is the result!

It's mainly homespun and Japanese cottons with a dash of Kaffe Fassett fabric in there. The back is a cozy soft flannel and I finished it off with some free motion quilting in a leaf and vine pattern. My flash has burned out the colours somewhat, they're actually much richer than they look here. As you can see, he seems to like it.

Lucky Sam!!! That is the most gorgeous quilt, using all my most favourite colours! AND you used some KF fabrics - brave girl;-P You know, I still haven't forgiven you for meeting him in real life, but I'll try not to go on about it... Sam looks lovely too - a bit like my dog, Taggie - I shall send you a piccie sometime!

I'm an absolute novice, so it should be interesting...
