Summer Sunrise

Many years ago I was lucky enough to visit Louisiana and spend some time in New Orleans. I loved everything about it, from the long drive over the Atchafalaya Basin it felt oddly like going home.
I was thinking about NO and Spanish moss hanging from the live oak trees while I was making this monotype and perhaps a little of that memory made its way into the finished print.

I really like this piece. It seems you've truly captured the feeling of Louisiana. Isn't it funny, you're from Britain and you've been to Louisiana and I'm from the U.S.and I've never been there! I've always dreamed of visiting though. Maybe someday I'll make it to the Bayou.
