Petunia

One of the artists' groups I belong to on Ebay, CaaT, is having its regular theme week. All the group members who want to make something on a particular theme - this month it's florals and botanicals - and then we all list them for auction at the same time in a very good-natured competition!

It's a lot of fun to see all the different interpretations people come up with. This little collage is finished with beeswax, one of my favourite 'tools' as it smells divine and is very magical to work with as well as producing some lovely effects.

If you'd like to see more of the theme week entries, including this one, go here.

  1. I have missed visiting your blog. We have dial-up here (no DSL until next month!!!) and I am so happy that I could finally admire your artwork today. Very sensitive and delicate composition, exquisite choice of colors and just perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations with us. I wish I could learn how to crete "retro" vintage like you. I have seen so many different ones on the web and I was really underwhelmed. But your art is brilliant and sophisticated. Good Job!

  4. Hi, Francesca! I left a comment on your previous post, which I really connected with (very interesting piece). I hadn't seen it earlier because your feedblitz thingy is temperamental and only sends emails about new posts when it feels like it, not when you do post. Please give it a piece of my mind.

Now, this post: Very cute. But she looks more like a Doris than a Petunia to me. Just kidding! This is a fun piece, love the colours.
