Neptune's Daughter

The first painting I have vivid memories of doing was in reception class at school. It was mainly blue and green and it was of a mermaid sitting on a rock surrounded by the ocean. The reason I remember it so well is probably because my teacher sent me to the headmistress with it, who promptly put it up in the hallway for everyone to see.

I was only four at the time but understood that this was an honour, although I was quite disappointed that I couldn't take it home to show my mum as I usually did with the things we made in class. Anyway, many years later and I'm still entranced by the sea so here's another mermaid. She's currently available in my Etsy shop.

  1. wonderful piece, can't tell if it is pencil work or a painting but it certainly deserves to be diplayed prominently. - John

I love this piece of art - I will check out your etsy shop!

I'm also impressed with your first acid dyeing attempts - I'm going to look in to having a go at this myself!

  7. I love this - and I love the story too!! Speaking as someone who cannot go a day without stopping at the seashore to marvel and admire, I know exactly where you are coming from. X
